‘Dutch Bath’ Cocktail

To make the cucumber syrup, bring to a boil equal parts white sugar and water with lots of finely chopped cucumber. Reduce and let simmer for 15 minutes, cool, and strain out cucumber.
Combine the gin, bitters, lime juice, and cucumber syrup in a cocktail shaker, then add 2 sprigs of dill and muddle them in the shaker. Shake very hard, then fine strain over cubed ice through a tea strainer. Serve in a rocks glass garnished with the remaining sprig of dill.
